HBarnes (previously "HBrougham") was established by Henrietta Barnes
in 2000. After graduating in music and
gaining
experience in commercial PR and marketing companies, she formed an Artists
Management company, representing
performers and composers and working as a concert manager. Joining
United Music Publishers in 1994 she became Promotion
Manager and negotiated commissions for leading composers of the day,
as well as advising concert programmers worldwide. Whilst working on
an
MA in
musicology at Huddersfield University,
she was a co-editor of the acclaimed publication "Uncommon Ground;
The Music of Michael Finnissy" with Christopher Fox and Ian Pace.
Working on the UMP website lead to designing sites for friends and subsequently
other individuals and companies. As well as mastering new technologies on the
job, Henrietta studied multimedia at WKC in London from 2003 - 04 completing
courses in flash, director, photoshop, html and sound and in 2006/7 mastered
advanced scripting techniques - PHP/MySQL- which opens the way to
producing the most dynamic and integrated sites yet. Watch this space!
